Title: California lead ban

Well,  no more lead shot for upland game in California.  Suggestion for alternatives for Chuckar and pheasant?

It's not set till 2019 and even then it could get blown off or it could even come about sooner. I myself am not worried. Other states love my $$$ more.

The best nontoxic shot made is ITX which is a tungsten/iron mix.  You get it from Ballistic Products, and it is awesome.  If you learn to handload it you can produce some wicked awesome hunting loads.  I have killed birds and ducks at 100 yards with this stuff; killed them dead.
The other piece of advice I have for you is just to move out of California.  Just leave it to the numbskulls and come and live around people that are like you are in the Rocky Mountain states or the midwest.  Just kidding, kind of.
Website is www.ballisticproducts.com.

You could switch to steel shot, a size or 2 (most likely 2) larger than the lead shot you're currently using for pheasant and chuckar. You have to bump it up a notch because steel is lighter than lead. It's also not as expensive as other lead free alternatives.
