Called him in to about 30 yards. His beard is wide and thick but only a few inches long, as you can see it has red tips which is different (some say that's from beard rot), he has a heavy body and 1" spurs

I don't know anything about turkeys but it's great you got one.

Where about in Ontario? My Dad and Mom were from Ont.
We have a group from up near Ottawa come out for Huns every fall.

Nice bird. With the hard winters you have up there it's a wonder ALL the gobblers don't have beard rot. LOL Congratulations.

I am from the Chatham area, which is located in the southern part of Ontario
Beard rot can be common due to our winter weather........depending on the year
I started the morning with a Primos single reed mouth call to get his attention and once he got close to my single hen decoy I switched to my "Turkey Thugs Rim Shot" slat to seal the deal
Ammo was 12 gauge Winchester Long Beard 3" # 5

Thanks everyone!

My dad grew up in Tilbury, We sold cattle for years to Copley brothers. They fed cattle across the road for Pioneer seed corn and Continental Can
