Title: 223 1/9 twist load data

I tried researching on the forum here using different wording etc and have had little luck finding any info for reloading 223.
I finally got my s2 varmint special with 1/9 and have a basic reloading kit on the way.

If anyone is willing to share some info on bullet weight etc or just add a reference link , I would greatly appreciate it 😁

With a 9-twist, you're looking at 70-75gr max weight, or perhaps 77gr, since you'll have longer than a carbine barrel on your bolt gun. Extra barrel length means extra velocity, which means higher rpms which is more stable. Depending on how fast your barrel is, you might get away with some 80gr stuff, but those may keyhole on you.

Take a look at Nosler's data, along with the online Hodgdon data. Hornady and Speer may also have some good options for you. Be wary of any online data from just random folks. Until you get a handle on handloading and some experience with the process, I'd stick to tested data from manufacturers and you should be fine.

Im probably going to puchase a book on reloading and while ive heard good things about the new hornady book others have also suggested lyman etc..do these books provide other data as to which rifles loads are to be used in or provide information on the overall caetridge length etc?

Not sure what you mean by "which rifles loads are to be used in" but any decent handloading manual is going to provide COL, start and max charge weights, and a detailed listing of case brand, primer type and brand, and even barrel length for velocity readings.

If you're just getting started, I'd encourage you to swing by the Hornady Ballistics Resource on their website. It's just about the best treatise on internal and external ballistics out there, in my opinion. I've read it at least a dozen times over the nearly 25yrs I've been handloading.
