I went to the range today to check my crossbow out to 60 ysrds.
But while dumpster diving for brass I found a new 22 box for my collection. My freind says hey this is all in spanish. And sure enough it is. Thats a first someone bringing ammo in from mexico.
I pictured it next to the american box of the same era.

Back of boxes.
-
Nice. I've never seen one in all Spanish
-
Nice find Mark. Interesting.
-
Score ;D
-
Very nice! Interesting that those 22s were made in Mexico.
-
Probably manufactured at the Aguila plant. If you could find the brass the head stamp would tell if it was made by Aguila.
-
The Golden Bullets by Remington I believe were early 70's and the Aquila box doesn't mention (that I can see from the pictures) golden bullets in Spanish. Maybe the Aquila ammo is older still, or maybe they didn't make the golden bullet counterpart in Mexico.
Just some FYI, Aquila means eagle in Spanish and is pronounced á-gui-la. (kind of a silent "u" if that helps)
-
Aquila pronounced a-KEY-la. Castillian Spanish. Mexican Spanish may be slightly different
-
Spelled the same way in both Spanish languages: áquila
-
Learn something new every day! gonna start talking about the bald aquila around the house and see how long it takes before I get questioned about what I'm talking about...
-
pretty cool , love those old boxes
-
Did you guys meant Aguila, and not Aquila??
"Just some FYI, Aquila means eagle in Spanish and is pronounced á-gui-la. (kind of a silent "u" if that helps)"
You are correct Danno, and in Castilian or the bastardized Spanish spoken in Mexico, Central & South America, Aguila is the right pronunciation.
