Made it out yesterday for a short morning hunt. Beretta had some nice dog work on these Quail

The drought and no rain until July really hurt the pheasants this year. The Quail will nest later if conditions are good, and they did so this year

The place in SD where we hunt pheasants would once in a while have some quails. The drought, bad wx, farming, etc, has taken a toll on the pheasant population in SD. We don't see the same number of birds we did in the past. :(

Went out this afternoon. Beretta and Paige got into the Quail. Normally don’t run them together at this age, but today l let both the young guns out! Both had good points and retrieves

Went for some scale quail this morning. Th dogs handled them a lot better today. Scale quail are tough in the fact they flush easy and early, until you can break the covey up a little, than they will start to hold better. Today it wasn’t until the third time we got them up that l got some shots.
