That is the problem.  We need an alternative leader from our Conservative Party that will win the votes of the general public.  Until then we only hope that the majority of voters that support Our present PM will see the light!

The Truckers , bless their soul, have a valid point in trying to get our so called democratic government to listen and respond to the mast majority of people fed up with our dictatorship type of leadership.  It is the extra protestor people that have created the problem.  People who just want to protest for the sake of protesting.  it is these people who have created the hatred to the the protestors.  I feel it was uncalled for to have police and others on call, just listen to the truckers in a peaceful  manner wouLd have been the best.  Our Prime Minister is a problem and won't listen to reason.  Just like his gun related regulations and laws he has passed or is trying to pass!

I load 34.5 grains of IMR 4895 behind 40 g Berger HP or 40g Hornady V Max.  not hot loads but getting 3850 f/s by chronograph.  Very accurate in my T/C Dimension.  If I do my part many 3 shot groups around 1/2" at 100y.  I've used 36g of Varget and not bad accuracy but I need to tweek the powder amount for better accuracy. ;)

Thanks HighDesert for the info.  I have known oily rags can be a problem.  Thanks for the heads-up.

:)Thanks guys.  You have given me hope.  I refinished a Win. Pre. 64 mod. 70 as the last directions and it was beautiful.  I thought I would use  linspeed or linseed oil with 400 grit sandpaper to fill the pores with the walnut dust. :) I also have some Winchester stock oil that I've used with nice results.  What I needed most was reassurance to use a stripper to remove that hard plastic like finish known to Weatherby.  Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a bunch for the info.  The use of a gel stripper sounds good as I do not want to scrape and sand for fear of removing unnecessary wood.  I will also contact Weatherby as to what they may suggest.

I have a 1977 vintage Mark V Deluxe with very nice wood that I picked up at a gun show.  The stock finish needs repair and wondering if there is a product for purchase that could remove the hard finish without a lot of scraping.  I was thinking of a chemical varnish remover or stripper but thought there must be Weatherby owners out there that have tackled a similar project and wouldn't mind sharing their knowledge.  Thanks.

Dito eford.  I have a .300 Wby Mag in an Ultra Lite and with the brake it shoots even better than without.  Not much more recoil than my .257 Wby Mag.  Hardly any muzzle jump.  I suspect that it was such a tiger to shoot without the brake that probably it made little difference whether brake on or not.  Since I had  holland brake installed I'm afraid to remove it!

I agree with the .257 barrel.  I have a Mark V Accumark in that calibre and it is deadly on deer size game.  Extremely flat trajectory and accurate toboot. Just don't over heat your new barrel!

Wondering if there is a clip replacement for Mark V's.  I would love to have a clip magazine replacement for my Mark V deluxe.

I have a WBY Mark V ultralight with 26" barrel in .300 WBY Mag. it kicked way to hard so put a Hollands muzzle brake on it.  It is now a dream to shoot and I believe accuracy is even better.  I will forever wear ear protection though!

Thank you for the info.  I found one at Lyman's.  it is a Pachmayr and they said this is the one that Weatherby used for that model.  Only problem is the name Weatherby is not stamped on the back.

Rifles / Info for correct recoil pad for a WBY Mark V built in Japan?
« on: July 09, 2018, 10:33:54 PM »
Does any one know what is the correct recoil pad for a WBY Mark V deluxe made in Japan.  The rifle is a 9 lug bolt, calibre 30/06, and built in 1977.  I need to restore the stock and the recoil pad is cracked and dried out.  Thanks for any help where I may get a replacement?
