I like the looks of this rifle. Thinking about a 240 wby for a new coyote gun. Running the numbers it’s more than what l really need for coyote’s. But their not worth anything on the fur market right now, and should be really flat out to 300 yards.

Looks like a 307 action with a nice wood stock.

Thought I would throw this in just for kicks.

How did this get into the country?

Cool box of German made ammo. The box ends don't open. You get your ammo from the top of the box.The whole top of th box folds open just like the end of the box of ammo does here in the US.

May not be German made, but made for the German and European market.

That’s very cool

Makes a big difference to be in the path of totality. Our trip was about a 7 hour round trip and happy that I went.Very strange. The park in San Saba had a bunch of ducks and when about 7/8ths of the sun was covered they all moved to the bank and sat down and started grooming themselves like they were going to roost.I could look to the West and see the sunlight way off in the distance.but it was darn sure dark where we were when the moon covered the sun 100%.

That must be some flat country, if you can look out from under an eclipse.
Seen one when l was young maybe 19-20 years old. Pretty cool, but since then haven’t paid a lot of attention to them.
It was cloudy here yesterday, it got a little darker. Looked like it was going to rain

Mike, We were probably only 25 to 30 miles in from the edge of totality. The picture I am posting is looking West from the park to the San Saba County Courthouse. It was dark enough to make the automatic lights come on at the courthouse.San Saba is the county seat of San Saba county and it is inside what I would call the Texas Hillcountry.I'm West of here a 100 miles as the crow flies in a transition area between the Hillcountry and the Desert to the West of me and the plains to the northwest. 1st pic is how dark it got at the park.Second is looking out west to the edge of totality and shows the courthouse

That’s crazy! Thanks for posting pictures

Awesome hunt and report! You are hitting all the animals on my list!
Do you think they are as tough as everyone says they are? Checked on a couple of hunts and it was 30 cal min, because they are so hard to put down. When asked a 308 win was fine.

A company l worked for gave silver dollars for safety awards very month for accident free that month. The last time silver went high they stopped giving them , and gave Home Depot cards instead. If l remember right it $43, and l sold some and bought my .204

I would add, l won’t try it all in one stoke to start with. So it doesn’t get stuck in your die

Haven’t heard of anyone doing it. But l don’t know why it would work. The neck should both be 30 caliber, may not need reamed. Not sure about the capacity amount, l didn’t know 308 brass was thicker than 300 savage if using the same brand. But easy enough to check if you have an old 300 case.
Try it, sounds like an interesting test. Sorry l couldn’t be of any real help
