Rifles / Made in Wyoming Mark V
« on: September 17, 2018, 03:47:02 PM »
So how can I get on the list for one of these? I am really wanting a new Mark V but I want one from the new factory in Wyoming. Is there some kind of waiting list?

Rifles / Of the various MK V's out there which is the best one?

As the title says, I'm wondering which is the preferred version. I generally like things Made in USA, but German made products are a close second for me. Also, I generally despise all things California. Can't wait for the move to Wyoming. I am interested in picking up a Mk V, but they are new to me, so can someone school me on the differences and what makes one better than the other if there are any?

Generally, what are the triggers like on the older styles?

Also, I see a lot of scope mounts, Leupold style, that hang over the rear of the ejection port. Is there a one piece scope mount that does not do that? Are there any ejection issues with this? I assume that it works fine or there wouldn't be so many of them out there.

From what I can tell, around $12-1500 seems to be the going rate for a really good condition used MK V is that sound about right?

Does anyone have one of these? What are your thoughts on it. I have been on the lookout for one but they are sure scarce.

Shotguns / Anyone use the SA459 for coyote?

This has quickly become my favored weapon for coyote hunting. I kept having them run in charging hard to my call and then exiting twice as fast and me bumbling around with my bolt action was pathetic at times.

Rifles / Newbie here with a new Vanguard and questions.

I just picked this up new in the box from a local gun store. But found that it is old stock and I'm wondering when it was manufactured ? Serial # is VS217xxx and it says Atascadero , Calif on it. It falls into the serial# range for the bolt recall, however when I entered it into the registry it says that it is not affected.

When did Weatherby move from Atascadero to Paso Robles?

It's a 300 Weatherby by the way, I went in looking for an ought 6 but when I saw the wood on this I had to have it!

Did I make a good buy? $650
