Hey Gang

with the 340 it just seems the 250gr bullets are a perfect match. is there one that just works better than the rest in the 7mmwby? I get that rifles shoot differently with different ammo but is there one that just plain works. I am a factory ammo guy 1 day I will roll my own but now its just factory ammo.

October has my full attention on a bull moose hunt with the 340 in northern Ontario

have my first leupold on my 270 3.5-10x50 vxIII. Hope it doesn't disappoint haven't had a chance to use it yet

Around the Campfire (General Discussion) / Re: new deluxe mark v stock

in trying not to sound like a dummy Im pretty sure Ive sounded like a dummy. My fingers don't always type my questions clearly. I should have not included a color. I have a broken deluxe stock when I took the stock off the (green bedding or whatever its called) was so tight around the recoil lug it just about didn't come off. So I have ordered a new stock from weatherby and am trying to gauge the work needed if any to make my rifle functional when the stock arrives. I realize any rifle can be bedded but I have never done any of mine and been happy with what they do from factory.

sorry I used color as an example although looking at a made in USA deluxe rifle the stock complete with green bedding.  regardless of color do replacement stocks from Weatherby have any bedding?

Just wondering if anyone has ordered a new wood stock from Weatherby if so does it have any sort of bedding (the green) or is it just wood without the bedding?

Hey Gang maybe I shouldn't comment but I have had a similar experience myself about a month ago I called Weatherby seeking information on Accubrakes I spoke with the pleasant Gal that wont be making the move to Wyoming. She explained what is going and transferred me to the new location. I spoke with a man who didn't have an answer for me but assured me I would get a call back likely in an hour. 2 days later I hadn't heard anything so I called back same process except after transfer I got voicemail left a message explaining my conversation 2 days earlier and to date I have not had a return call. Am I going to stop buying weatherbys hell no am I perfect hell no again should I have got a return call from them likely but they have allot going on is that a good excuse likely not but it was just a phone call.

Gang I am looking for your assistance on scope selection. I have 2 zeiss victory 1 in 1.5-6x42 duplex and the other is 2.5-10x50 german#4. The rifle really doesn't have a purpose maybe a bear or moose hunt. I was planning on putting the 1.5-6 on it and the other on a 300 but now am wondering if the 416 would do better with some more top end. any help is appreciated!

never won one but bought a couple that were won by someone else. 870 wingmaster NWTF 12ga and a bps DU 10ga both were raffle guns.

Thought I would update the post and let everyone know my rifle arrived and I am extremely happy with fit and finish. I have almost $200 less than msrp invested in this rifle and its guaranteed to shoot moa. Haven't had a chance to get out and shoot it yet (ice fishing has been at its best) but I don't really have any concerns. Maybe there is but what else can you buy in this chambering and quality for that kind of money. BB it would be a pleasure to have a beer with you Roger and Chris after a day of buffalo hunting!
