5 year old thread and notice how many posters disappeared in that time? It seems we all have our own "best", just like scopes, calibers, and whatever. LOL! Zonie and "what's in your gun" is the best answer. I remember deer hunting in the 1960's and you had the choice of Remington or Winchester ammo. They worked just fine!  ;D

I have taken more deer with Remington CorLokts than anything else. Lately, my best hunting bullet is the 140gr. Barnes TSX out of my Model 70 7mm WSM. It works well at both close and long shots and is real close to 1/2 moa.  I really want to try out the  220gr. Woodleigh out of my 325 WSM on a hog.   :)

After 13 go rounds with skin cancer, going naked is not a option for me.  LOL! Stuart is not very far north of me. Besides, at my advanced age, I would be charged with "assault with a dead weapon"  ;D

The flight time of the bullet at those distances allow too much time for a critter to move, IMO.

Finished his back yard today and proceeded to get a lecture on how I should have done 5 days of work in 100+ heat indexes from a total non participant.  Wanna guess which 2 words I used?

I'm not sure that Weatherby is in a position in the middle of the move to answer questions about it right now. I sure would give them a call or a email when they can answer. Hope it shoots as well as it looks!   :)

Amen on each rifle has a mind of it's own!  I keep notes on such things!  :)

I am a WSM fan!  The serial number should hold all the answers. I don't think they made a Mark V in 300 WSM, only Vanguards.  :)

I'm not much of a muzzle break fan.  Yes , there is one on my 15lb. 338 Lapua Mag single shot Savage target rifle.  It came that way from the factory. The recoil is about the same as my AR-15 clone.  The noise level is another story.   If you think they help, then go for it!   :)

When I moved here in February 2002, everybody had the flag flying.  Yesterday, there were 3 and Rambo and I put them all up,  one here, one at Dave's and one at Cliff's.

Yeah has already been affecting the weather in my area and I'm 10hrs from the Charleston SC. Water spouts have been sighted in the lower Chesapeake bay and that hasn't happened in a long time that I can remember.
Extreme high tides in the lower Patuxent, too. I have a lifetime friend at Pax River NAS.  I'm having a hard time believing that with 3 named storms and  2 more potentials( Joyce and Kirk?) that Florida is high and dry! Ah, Joyce is a reality now!  I dated a woman named Joyce a hundred or so years ago. One I should have kept! "Shoulda, coulda, woulda don't mean shit!"  Quoted from my dad!
