Seems it equals about $1240 US dollars?? If I was really looking for a .257 WBY Accumark and came across it in the shop, and got him to lower the price on top of it all, I might be tempted.

I looked at that link and it's tempting. I've done enough minor gunsmithing to handle it, except I'd rather start out with a built rifle, since I've never had an AR and want to get familiar from one end to the other before doing a build. The other thing is, if there's a problem on a factory build, it goes straight back to S&W, whereas if I put it together and it won't run properly, I think it's on me. I don't have any AR experience to be good at diagnosis yet.

Right along my line of thinking

Im definitely a neophyte here, what do  some of you AR fellas recommend as a solid 6.5 creed in the AR platform? Id like to hunt with it, probably hogs mainly, but maybe deer too... and Id absolutely like to mess around at the range with it as well, to at least 400-500 yards. Thinking Ill either buy outright or have a Smith over by my work that Ive started using lately do a build.... probably would like to just buy whole on my first one but IDK...

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking about scratching 2 itches with one gun....

Got the Razor in. Been raining here for last couple of days and probably will be for the next couple too. I really like what I see outside a window so far though. The thing is definitely light! Even knowing it was supposed to be, I still almost had a hard time believing there was a scope in the box as I was opening it up.

I will be interested in putting this on a rifle and doing some side by side glass comparison with some of my other scopes.

(Heres a long one)   When I was about 16-17 years old my dad, uncle, grandpa, cousins and I leased out about 1,000 acres in deep southwest Texas. It was a LONG drive to get there from where we live in DFW area. I think my dad and uncle got the place cause they thought it would be a place in TX where they could spot and stalk hunt like they used to do with their dad back in the day. Place looked FANTASTIC.

We put out a few feeders to try and hold deer and hunted it hard for 3 or 4 trips, 7 of us in all. One of my cousins claimed he shot at a deer one morning but to this day most of us think he just got bored and picked out a rock on a cliff about 100 yards away and blasted it. That was the only deer seen between the lot of us on those trips though. Come to find out the place had been day leased just about every day of the season the previous few years and someone had over grazed it with who knows how many goats for about the same amount of time. After finding this out, and due to the distance to the place, everyone decided to give up and retrieve their stuff after season (most had better places to hunt closer to home).

There was one small corner of the place I stubbornly believed I could get a deer from though. I told my dad and cousins or whoever would listen we were hunting it wrong. They all thought I was crazy. About a week before X-mas I got a duck hunting friend of mine to make the trek back down there with me. He was an avid hunter but had never been deer hunting before. We got to the lease at about midnight. I drove directly to a feeder and me and him loaded it up and moved it across the place to my spot. We then drove back to our camp but pulled out our sleeping bags and slept in the truck cause it was COLD outside and we were ill prepared for it.

Next morning we were tucked into some rocks about 100 yards away from the feeder. We saw does the first 3 hunts. Looking back, it was lunacy I told him this, but I was some combination of young, foolish, and cocky and I told him to not shoot those cause I knew a buck would be along. Well, on our last afternoon sit a decent size 7 point comes wondering through and my buddy dropped him like it was his 40th deer hed taken. We got up to it and then the buck fever sat in. It was funny to watch someone almost start hyperventilating after everything was over.

That was one happy truck ride back to town. We displayed the antlers over the side of the truck like we had a Booner. I think I made him go show my dad the deer before we went to show his. He had it euro mounted and it still hangs in his house to this day as far as I know.

You guys are harsh! But, suppose I am too, since I agree. If I own the place, my stand is wherever I happen to be sitting at the moment!  ;D :D
