Reloading / AMP annealer and Wby brass
« on: July 26, 2020, 03:14:21 PM »
Hello all! I recently bought an AMP annealer and wow what a difference with my 6.5-300 and 338-378! Im blown away at the benefits from annealing after each firing. If any Canadians are interested im more then willing to anneal your brass. I can do any case with the 338-378 (30-378, 378, 416 etc) and 6.5-300 (300, 340, etc)

« on: September 17, 2019, 04:46:38 PM »
I need a more robust, and adj stock for my 338-378 accumark. All ive been able to find the bell and carlson one, but i feel it wouldnt look right on a mark v. What else is everyone running? If you have photos it would be better :)

Fyi - my 338-378 is a range gun only smashing steel at 1000m. Want adj comb and LOP, ill still use my floorplate bc i single load.

So after a week and a half my accumark arrived :) To say that I was excited was a huge understatement! She was printed with 225 tsx's and grouped them .79" for a 3 shot group. And fired by none other then Adam Weatherby :) Cant wait to get glass on her and take out for a few rounds :) Then load development will begin!!!!

With the break it's not bad to shoot at all recoil wise.  The big things you need to get use to is the loud report and when shooting it off a bench you're going to feel a puff of air hit your face.  It's not bad but does take some getting use to.

Ahh i understand! Well thank you for the heads up :) cant wait to try out either 300gr SMK's or bergers with rl 33

Ldsh_Tanker,
congrats and welcome to the nation.  by the way, have you shot many and / or much with rifles of approximately the same recoil?  i picked up a used Made in Japan MkV in 340 Wby, and though i'm really enjoying it, it is quite a challenge for me to shoot well off the bench.  i think a 338-378 is beyond my capability right now....

Thank you! I currently have a accumark in 300 win mag. But i have never shot anything as big as the 378. Im excited. Its been a dream to own this calibre! It does have the accubrake so im not overally worried about recoil. Its funny you mention a jap 340, i just sold mine to buy the trex gun lol

Rifles / 340 vs 338-378 please help!!
« on: June 28, 2019, 06:52:29 PM »
Not a valid %s URLI currently am waiting for my older japan 340 to show up. Got a good deal on it and couldn't say no 875 cdn shipped.  Now i find a range certified 338-378 accumark brand new 1700 cdn. Now my question, is there that much of an improvement over the 340? Or is it just a small change with ammo and brass being 5x the price?
I need some serious help on this bc im torn on what to do!
Sorry itll be a play gun and a hunting gun.
