So even though many said a brake is not necessary, i decided to still try one, WOW what difference. LOVE the low recoil and my group size shrunk.

Sorry if this has been covered, how close is the published fps of weatherby select plus ammo shooting from a 26 inch barrel? I do not have a chronograph to get an actual fps. 257 weatherby mag, 100 grain ttsx

Probably just a combination of test firing and and some sort of packing grease or oil mixture. Just clean the barrel like "eford" suggests and it'll be fine. Good choice in Weatherby calibers.ok thank you!!!!rifle was sold as new, never appeared to be fired except the bore

Hello again, please advise... brand new vanguard 257. Have not fired a round yet, barrel is extremely dirty/ greasy. Is this something from packing??? Are they normally this dirty from factory??? Patches come out black..

Hello everyone, I just ordered my first weatherby. I bought a vanguard accuguard in 257 WM. With a blued fluted barrel.. very excited to get this new rifle, but where in the heck can i get some 110 accubond ammo to shoot?? There doesn't seam to any out there. Any leads would be appreciated. Rich
