He shot one and then let his brother take a shot at a doe. Guess he shot twice. Daniel told him if you had the crosshairs on it you hit it. He said yeah, I missed. Fyi, 100 grain NBTís will create a 6Ē exit hole on the neck of a deer.

Neighbor got one with my .257.

Good Luck Chris, opening day in Wisconsin is Saturday  too. We are Hunting North of Ino in Bayfield County.

One of these days I am going to skip my opener and head up there. Good luck and stay warm!

Hehe

Gun opener in NY is also this Saturday.  Bringing my Weatherby Vanguard Sporter in 30-06.  Just sighted it in at the range this afternoon.  It will be cold with over a foot of snow, so hunting should be good.  Best of luck to everyone else hunting this weekend.

I love it when there is snow because you can see deer a mile away and tracking if needed is a whole lot easier.

Good luck Chris!

Starts this Saturday in Tennessee too. I'll be using my 300 Weatherby I got back in June. Can't wait to hit one with it

Good luck

My brush gun?hahaha. I need more ammo for it. May have snow Sunday but opening day looks like high of 40 low in high 20ís or low 30ís.

Good luck! Itís always nice to be able to fret over which one of your capable rifles you want to hunt with. How many doe tags do you have this year?

Looks like 4 this year unless I get invited to another county.

Indianaís gun season starts this weekend. Like always I am ready for it. I will only be going after does. We are only allowed one buck in Indiana.
I will most likely be using my Accumark in 6.5-300 but at some point I will be trying my 6.5 Creedmoor out.
I dropped my .450 off to a buddy from work so his son could use it. So far four people have killed deer with it including me.
Hope everyone has good luck this year or will have some soon.

The scope is actually a cheap Nikko Sterling that came on another rifle(Howa 1500). I think the rings Burris Extra high or Nikko Sterling extra high rings. Thinking more so Nikko Sterling bought at Academy.

Thanks Roger and DW. I sent you a PM Chris.

Here's my little tack driver. This is a .223 Wylde with a JP Rifle Precision Match barrel and titanium bolt with ultra light BCG, Noveske VLTOR upper receiver, Anderson lower with Giessele kit and Elfman Trigger. The scope is the infamous Schmidt and Bender PM II 5 x 25 - 50mm. The stock is the MagPul PRS Gen 3 with a JP Rifle silent captured buffer in the tube. Before I realized it, I had over 5,000.00 invested in it, thank god ammo is cheap.  The fun part about the AR is not just the fun at the range but it's all the cool stuff you can do to them to personalize them. Have tons of fun with your new rifle but set yourself an upgrade budget, add-ons are addicting.

Nice looking rifle! Iím looking forward to getting out to the range with it and whack some coyotes with it.

Sent you an email

Hey guys this might be a stupid question but I bought a Remington R-15 VTR stainless in 223 Rem. I bought it as my main coyote hunting rifle and to shoot for fun. My question is what kind of scope mounts do I get for this thing? I read some might need risers for the scope mounts. ???

Pm your cellphone or email and I will show you what I have on one of my uppers. I use extra high rings.
