Another good AC/DC one: "It's a long way to the top" (if you wanna rock 'n roll)

As long as Baldwin has enough money to buy everybody off (and probably does) he will walk. That's just how it works.

Well, here we go again with some wackjob shooting up a school. This one was in Uvalde, Texas, just west of San Antonio (Matthew McConaughey's hometown). Salvador Ramos (probably here illegally) shot and killed 19 children and two teachers in a classroom. The left is again screaming for more gun control when this is a mental health problem they continually choose to ignore. They prefer to celebrate delusional weirdos (like Bruce Jenner for example). Ramos posted on social media it was coming (just like the one in Santa Fe, Texas) but nobody seemed to notice. Since we don't use mental institutions much anymore, all the nut cases are walking around loose these days, "expressing themselves." If the powers that be destroy gun rights, these loons will simply find other cowardly ways to kill people (like using vehicles, which has already happened a couple times). What a mess.

Must have been a GREAT time. Congrats.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. There are satellites orbiting all over the place that you can't even see, but they can read the license plate on your vehicle clear as day. I won't put security cameras inside my house because they can easily be hacked by nefarious individuals, not to mention our friendly government. Big brother is everywhere.

Hear you on that! I am buying and shooting much less because of the ridiculous prices. I'm beginning to think ammo prices will never come back down at all, regardless of how well supply catches up.

Now that's just good comedy  :) Too bad that stuff's all true. I'd like one of those shirts too.

It's safe to say that the reason for the 9mm/.380 comparison is those are the most popular carry calibers and I think those caliber markets are what they are trying to compete with in bringing out this new caliber. Paul mentions in the video that recoil felt about the same as 9mm (firing both through 3.5" barrels), so there is no plus there. The whole (alleged) market appeal is increased capacity compared to either 9mm or .380.

They look pretty good on fit and finish, but they aren't cheap at $1349. Would have been really nice if these were in the $800-900 range.

Paul Harrell did a test comparing this caliber to 9mm and .380 to see how they measure up. If you don't want to watch the whole video, the conclusion was that 30 super carry falls in between .380 and 9mm in terminal performance.

The lefties would cream their jeans if they could somehow confiscate every gun we own. They just can't comprehend that there's a lot of mentally ill people walking around loose these days who belong in institutions getting therapy - it's not the guns, those have been here all along and pretty much nobody did such wacko crap years ago.

Wow! There's a wall full of beautiful mounts right there. Way cool!

Thanks for the input guys. I think like the conibear trap idea best, just that you have to be really careful with those if you value your fingers. I have caught squirrels in my live trap before with peanut butter, but most of them refuse to go in. I am overrun with squirrels, as they have few natural predators in the area and I have a lot of oaks (acorns galore!) and nut trees that keep them well fed (I did watch a hawk swoop down and grab one right behind my back patio some months ago - that was cool to see).

Around the Campfire (General Discussion) / Steel Jaw Leghold Traps
« on: May 13, 2022, 12:16:19 PM »
I have had armadillos tearing up my property/nesting under my shed/other structures, raccoons that can get into trash cans, squirrels out the wazoo (I have a lot of very tall trees, some within 20 feet of the house) for a long time and have had enough of it. Steel jaw traps are still legal in Texas and I've had thoughts of getting a couple small ones to help dispatch some of these pests (shoot them in the traps), but I have real reservations about it, as they seem pretty cruel. What do ya'll think about this?
