Enjoyed a Great Moose Hunt in Alberta

Enjoyed a Great Moose Hunt in Alberta
« on: October 09, 2013, 05:19:50 PM »
I just got home from a wonderful week hunting moose in north eastern Alberta. The Canadian bush provided some fantastic scenery and beautiful wildlife. On the third day of the hunt I was able to take a really nice 3-4 year old bull moose. My trusty .300 Weatherby did the job with one shot with a 180 grain Nosler Partition at 70 yards.  I feel very blessed to be able to enjoy a hunt like this and hope to go back in the future. You can be sure that whenever I go, I will always carry my Weatherby.

The moose was around 1000 lbs live weight. I brought home seventy pounds of de-boned meat, most backstrap, tenderloins and steaks. The rest of the meat I gave to an elderly couple there in Alberta. The meat is fantastic.

Good job with the moose and for giving meat to the people who surely appreciate it.

a good moose is a close-to-the-truck moose.
