I would like to see the medium bores offered. In no particular order, this would include 338-06, 35 Whelen, & 9.3X62 Mauser. These mid range numbers make fine companions to longer range Wby. Mags, & are very effective elk & moose cartridges.

I'm going with the 270 WBY and the 340 WBY. Come on guys, give us some credit. Get the calibers some fame. If you make it cheaper to own the caliber, you'll sell more ammo.

What about the 224 WBY? I know there are issues with bringing it back in the MKV, how about introducing it on the Vanguard?
I use a .460WBY on Squirrels...

I know several folks who'd like to have a Vanguard in 280Rem.

Nuttin' personal ... I have a Mk V in .280 (SS Fibermark).  With Std Leupold mounts and rings (can save some wieght with Talley LW's) and a FX-II 6x36 she still comes in under 7 pounds.

If you want a .280 look Fibermark (no SS anylonger) and don't look back.

IMHO ... the .270Roy only belongs in a Mk V Deluxe ;)

Just so its clear, I have nothing against the Vangard ... great rifle manufactured by a great name ... just ain't a Mk V.

In fact, that's exactly why I think the 280Rem is a perfect fit for the Vanguard.  If I'm buying a Mark V, I'm going to go ahead and buy the 270Wby (which I did, and love) or 7mmWby, rather than pony up that kind of coin for a 280.  The Vanguard, on the other hand, is the perfect platform, offers the kind of fit, affordability, and quality that hunters and shooters look for in standard (and more mainstream) cartridges, and would sell 280's like hotcakes, I bet.  And for the record, it is hard to find a Mark V in 280Rem.  I know, as I've looked.  Another small issue for me is that the 6-lug Mark V is not as smooth (at least in the several I've handled and worked with) as the 9-lug.  The Vanguard doesn't have that problem - smooth as glass.

Given the long action of the Vanguard...the 35 Whelen would be my first pick.
I think a resurrgence of the bigger-slower bores would be a welcome concept of dispatching power for today's shooters-

I would love to see, in this order:

1) 375 Wby
2) 375 H&H
3) 300 H&H

I like the idea of 9.3x62 also -  I would need a 7x57 too so I could buy a matched pair full of nostalgia.  Even though I have both of these calibers already.
