I am going out for Idaho mule deer buck, Bull Elk and Black Bear for 12 day hunt. I have numerous other calibers( 270-338) to choose from but am going  to using my 257 ROY. What  bullet brand and weight did you use to harvest your Elk?

Thank you verrrryyyy mush! :)

I have family out in Oklahoma who hunt elk with the 257 Roy.  They both use factory ammo.  One goes with the 110 Accubond variety, the other prefers the 120 Nosler partition

257,   on elk  it's marginal at best even with the best bullets.  Shot placement is critical regardless of bullet weight with the qtr bores.

My dads neighbor and his family have killed multiple elk using the 117 gr Hornady RN factory ammo. Me personally I would use the 110 accubond for factory ammo and the 120 grain Speer Grand Slam for reloading. i currently load 115 gr Nosler BTs for deer but will load the Speeer GSs when I move back home.
