I have recently read many articles and the large majority of people liked sako over weatherby but their was no real reason most said sako was better quality but i find that hard to believe. What do you guys think.

Ford or Chevy?  I own both rifles and when push comes to shove I'll take the Sako but mine is an AV.

Without question, the strongest bolt action in the world is the Weatherby Mk V. Start from there and do an objective evaluation of each quality that is important to you. Then go to feel. After all of that you make your choice. Sako is a fine rifle but I prefer Mk Vs. However, you may differ. If you do you are entitled to differ.

I think both of them are very goog gun. I feel that olds Sako rifles like the Hunter 75 is superior than last manufactured by that company. Weatherby is a american classic. One is european style the other american style.  Each one with your concepts. My concept both of them are so good. My inclination the olds SAKO an the olds Weatherby are the bests. Olds guns are better finished. Sako is very nice finished but Weatherby show an strenght and vigor.

Yep thats why we are all on here. Most of us rate our Weatherby's as the best on the market.
Trust me they are addictive, once you have one you will want another and another and a.......

My Weatherby Vanguard was the best value on the market at the time I bought it I feel

If I were to go and start shopping right now a Sako (or Tika) would be very high on my list.

Its my hope they can keep up with their competition.

Sako makes high quality rifles and are comparable in quality to Weatherbys.  All the Sakos I own and have shot over the years are extremely accurate.  Beyond that the one thing about Sako is you don't see them on dealer's shelves as much as you see Weatherbys especially in my neck of the woods.
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.

I like my Weatherbys but all my new rifles have been Tikkas.  Half the price, smoother, and more accurate.

I'm still looking for an original version Back Country, though.

I have a Sako 85 in 270 win. It is a very fine rifle.  Although I am partial to the weatherbies ... and obviously have collected quiet a few, my Sako 85 is shorter and lighter and a very fine rifle and shooter. I would not hesitate to purchase another Sako 85 and have considered a grey wolf or stainless hunter in 338 or 375 H&H for sometime, but only because of length and weight over my 340 or 378. Just depends upon if you plan to pack it long distances.

Funny this should be in rifles right now. I wanted another Weatherby , but i have always wanted a model 85 Bavarian. Well so i just ordered it it is going to take about 9 months to get it  they are just doing a run on them right away. Caliber its hard.for me to stay away from the Swede and that's what was ordered. Love both makes but the factory single set trigger is what i wanted this time out. Oh yes the wife did not even give me grief this time never argued just said ok you worked hard and saved your money buy what you like, kind out made me wonder what was up.

I think the wood and finish on a Mark 5 is more attractive than the simpler plainer look of Sakos.   It’s almost like Scandinavian vs Italian furniture.  But that’s just my taste and opinion.   I like my rifles to shoot and look good
