Heresy  ;)

I use a Weatherby PA-08 20 gauge with 26" barrel.

Replaced the factory choke with a Primos Tight Wad .570 Ported Choke and mounted a Sun Optics CD13 "tactical sighting device" on a Sun Optics rib mounted cantilever (glossy ad language for a lighted reticle non-magnified 30mm tube - been using it for two years now, it was a freebee from our a Sun Optics rep so replaced the fiber sights I had previously installed).

Why do I use the PA-08?

Because I misread the marking on the receiver - I thought it said "Made for Turkey" instead of "Made in Turkey"  ;D

And have been shooting Hornady #5 Nickel 3" Turkey (got that tossed to me from my Hornady rep) - it's good to sell firearms/ammo and accessories for a living - if only Weatherby would toss me a rifle :)

I use a Rem 870 26" barrel, which I replaced the stock with camo thumbhole stock and grip, have an ATN holographic sight on it, really love my Kick's tube on it using Win Supreme #6.

I am going to try and pattern 3" # 6 Winchester Long Beard from my new turkey gun this spring, last year from my Mossberg 535 28" barrel with a undertaker choke tube it was way to tight of a pattern even out to 30 yards for my liking

I own several turkey specific shotguns but my favorite is my Benelli Super Black Eagle I, full camo, 24 inch barrel with a Kick's GT .655 turkey choke. It sports an old original Leupold/Gilmore red dot sight. My favorite load is the old Winchester "Supreme" 3.5" HV 2 oz. # 6 shot. I have killed a number of gobblers with this combo including the big old boss tom in my avatar.

Hi guys, can you please tell me what the difference is between a "Turkey Choke" compared to the normal chokes that one uses in a shotgun?
Being from Australia we don't have wild turkeys here to hunt.
Thanks.

Turkey chokes are ALOT tighter. Full choke is about .695 in a standard 12 gauge. Turkey chokes run from about .640 to .675 with the most popular inside diameters being .655 to .665 inches. The turkey chokes are also longer and extend out past the end of the barrel. Turkey loads are heavy and long and thus require the choke to slowly constrict the charge. Hope this answers your question.  WTT
