Newbie Questions on Mark XXII
« on: March 15, 2016, 06:29:13 AM »
Group,

Longtime Smith and Colt collector, brand new Weatherby enthusiast.

I recently acquired a pair of beautiful Mark XXIIs, and hope to get some information on them from this board:

Date of Manufacture:  Bolt Action #AS004276 & Semi-Auto #JC12109

Also, I would love to find a 5-shot magazine for the bolt action.  Any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Thanks guys.

I should have posted that I'm looking for a 5-shot mag for the semi-auto.  Mags for the bolt action are available, both new and aftermarket.

The only 5-shot for the semi-auto I've seen is listed on GB for $125!  I guess I'll just live with the 10-shot hanging out the bottom.

Sorry about the confusion.

No more posts for me until I've had at least 2 cups of coffee!

I have a Tubular magazine Japanese MK XXII that needs cleaning (just got it a while back, and it started failing to feed).  The barrel and receiver are resisting reasonable attempts to slide them forward for removal.  Any hints?  For all I know this gun (given condition) may never have been apart since manufacture.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know what you mean by "sliding forward".After the screws are removed that hold trigger guard on and action in stock. The barreled action should lift straight up out of stock. Most separate from each other easily.
