I'm a newbie to the site and just wanted to share a picture of my successful 2016 NW Ontario deer hunt.

I researched rifles and calibers for a year before making my purchase of this .257 Lazerguard, very satisfied and couldn't ask for a more beautiful rifle for the price and topped it with a Nikon Monarch 3 (2.5x10-44). This is definitely a shooter and consistent sub-moa rifle.

This 150 Class buck was shot at 100 yards with Hornady Custom 110 gr InterBond ammo as I don't reload (I do have Nosler ammo (2 boxes) as well, but have not shot it yet. Here in Ontario the cost difference is $50.00/per between Hornady and Nosler 110 gr ammo).

Now my research for booking pronghorn hunt will begin.

Successful hunting to all!

What a brute.Great mass.I'd guess over 150 inches.
I try to avoid temptation unless I can't resist it.

Nice work. On both the buck and selection of rifle and caliber. You sure will love the .257 Roy.

Outstanding  trophy Sir! Please tell us how the bullet preformed,  also the range the shot was taken at.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Lots of great info and years of experience and advice on the Weatherby Nation. The .257 was a pleasure to shoot all day during its break in phase. My dad enjoyed shooting it as well (just to confirm its accuracy).

As for the answer to your question wvwoods:
It was a 100yd shot while the deer was quartering to me with only the top half of the deer visible. The Hornady 110 gr InterBond was placed just behind the shoulder as the leg was forward, through the left lung and just to say it caught the right lung (shot was little high as I moved on the bipod) We found a small piece of copper shrapnel that was lodged against the back bone, but the remaining of the bullet passed clean through.
I will try the Nosler 110 gr AccuBond on my next hunt.

He was brought to Advanced Taxidermy just north of Toronto for a shoulder mount (will be my first).

That is a fine buck!
The 257 bee is very bad news for whitetails and it hits like a sledge hammer !
