I am currently shooting the GMX 90 Grain out of my VG2 Deluxe. I have a write up on them in the Ammo section of the group. They perform very well.

Scrap the idea of both the 85 and 100 gr bullets you mentioned. Stoke your 257 Weatherby with a 115 Gr Ballistic Tip.
Go hunt, kill chit DRT and thank me later!! ;)
got a load worked up 115 n.b.t over 70.4 gr of imr 7828 ssc 1/2 inch at 100 yards that's what ill be using for deer and blackbear this year

Mountainman,

If it hasn't happend already, I think you'll be quite pleased with the 115 NBT. I can honestly say that every animal I've shot with my 257 Wby and a 115 NBT has dropped at the shot. The bullet is much tougher than some give it credit for. Additionally, it bucks the wind and carries much more punch at longer distances than the 100's.

Here's a pic of a 115 NBT I recovered from an 8 point Tx Whitetail. Distance was 160 yards, starting velocity was 3450ish. Broke both shoulders. Recovered the bullet underneath the skin on the off side.

Same load shot into 1 gallon milk jugs from 20 ft. Went through 4 jugs, found in the 5th.

I'm new to this forum, but here is my 2 cents. I have an Accumark in 257 and I load my own. I use 110 accubonds  and it loves them. Used it last year on a doe at 370 yards. Dead right there.  Same with a big spike at 40 yards last year. Through and through shots. This year 380 yards on 12 point. Went 40 yards.

I know, most don't like the ballistic tips in the 257, but like wbyfan1, I don't mind the 115 gr ball tip in my 257. I can't complain about the results with them on game, and  they are very accurate in my rifle.
