I did like the stock on my Vanguard S2, but I am a tinkerer by nature, so I bought a McMillan stock for it. Nothing wrong with the factory stock, however.

I ordered a B&C stock from Weatherby. The same style and color they used to put on the older Vanguard Sub MOA models. It now matches my Vanguard Sub MOA model 338 Win Mag.

Nice scope choice. I have the Viper HS 4X16 on a .257. I really like the combo.

Welcome aboard!  Like others have stated, owning Weatherbys is contagious, oh and there is no cure.  Once you own one, you want another, and another, and well you get the idea. :)

Not sure about the practical use, or if I will just sit and flinch, but for some reason the 270WBY is making me look at it.   ;D

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

My first Weatherby is a 300 purchased in 1971. My second was the .257 in 1990. It was lighter than the 300 and I used it for long distance hunting out west for mule deer. I jumped a buck at 25 yards and shot it. So much for needing that long distance Mule Deer hunting rifle.
Since then I've acquired several more. The rifle you have is a great caliber.

Welcome to the best place to learn about all things Weatherby and a whole bunch of other things related to hunting, reloading, and firearms in general.
The 257 Roy is a great cartridge. I think it is underrated by the modern gunwriters, but if we paid attention to them instead of the rifle and the results we would be poorer and always spending money on things they think we need. Blah blah blah, you have the right to ask away for help (if you think you need it).
