Welcome to the Nation Sargus!  Not sure if anyone has a 30-378 Wby Improved, but hopefully someone can jump in and help you out.  How about posting pictures of your Weatherby?

On a case of such size I doubt there is a noticeable ballistic improvement by changing shoulder angle.
Sorry... Yesterday was the last and final day for any and all complaints whatsoever.

Sounds to me like someone created a Wildcat just for the purpose of being able to say he created a Wildcat.. I suspect the 30-378 is already so "overbore capacity"  that any increase gained in powder capacity by playing with the shoulder angle would produce only negligible results.  From my humble perspective, our old reliable 300 Weatherby already does anything and everything needed from a .30 tube.
The biggest gain I can suspect by going up to the .30-378 is how much bigger the bruise might be on my shoulder. If you are going to the field with that "Improved" thingy, on your next hunt, enjoy. However,  I doubt if your targeted T-Rex will be able to report any discernible difference in either of the 3 30s I mentioned.

If you want a 30-378 Improved, go for it....

I'm with you BigOrange44. I too think the .300 WBY is the best balanced .30 cal. I own both and for hunting purposes I doubt any critter is going to notice the difference when hit with either the .300 or 30-378 wby.
Mind you the 30-378 is a sexy looking bit of gear that gets my motor running just looking at it lol

I agree BB340... Just imagining that massive case necked-down a quarter of a mile and knowing it possibly holds at least 7 lbs of 4350 makes me olde scotch-irish putter flutter more than a wee bit. ;D 8) 8) 8)
