A old friend from my college days showed up for a visit last week, we not really that old as he is the same age as me bt we hadn't seen each other for 40years.
He had a Spot Tracker that he carries when skiing and out fencing by himself and even biking. It has an S O S feature if he is hurt or lost. I think he can allow up to 9 people track him from phone or computer.

Anybody else use one?

Do any new phones allow you to do what this does?

IF it is a GPS based tracker, they do not work in a thunderstorm!  I went to meet a fellow member in a ongoing storm and the GPS failed to "see" the needed info. MapQuest printed out info paid off! Low tech OCD!   Smoking Oyster Bar on the west coast of Florida, 85 miles away!  1 of 3 members I have been honored to meet!  James7mmWby in that case!  :)
