Moose sheds mount

I saw the bull drop one side and my wife found the other one. They were just over the hill from the house so we got them mounted. The spread is 58", Big moose for anywhere.

No we didn't hang them upside down
I don't know why they do that.

Pretty cool. The one real close encounter I had, the bull didn't have all the points. His went pretty much straight out. The smaller bull I saw the next day actually had more points on either side than the larger one. That is what is cool about moose. Every bull could be so different in configuration. They are such cool critters.

Your right that is a big Moose anywhere. Are the Moose by you considered Canadian or Shiras? Either one it is big but if they are Shiras it is record book type...

I'm not sure, Had a Taxidermist stop in to hunt for a couple days and he asked if it was a Yukon moose since he just got back from 3 weeks up there.
I said"I don't know, I found them just over the hill"

We are quite aways from the Yukon.

By that map we don't have moose.
We are close to where North Dakota and Montana meet at the Canadian border.

You definitely need to inform the moose and tell them to leave immediately. I for one would have little patience for moose with no respect for established map ranges.

He was being fussy I think. He found one buck he was after but it was chasing a doe and he couldn't catch up.
Saw lots of deer but of course he wanted a big one.
