I am new to the Nation but was wondering if this so called rifle owner has jacked around with the trigger.

My Father-in Law left me a Vanguard 300bee working up some loads for it now.  The rifle has never been shot and had no scope or mounts on it. Ordered some light weight Talley Mounts and Scope ready to take to range if I can ever get time.  Have enjoyed reading the forum. Lots of knowledge here.

Welcome to the Nation TXjohn, after you get her out to the range, let us know how it went. What ammunition will you be trying out, and have you shot a 300 Wby before this?

danno50, haven't shot a 300wby but I have 2 300 win mags.  I have several .308 cal. bullets will try one of the 180 grs. also have IMR7828, R22, Imr4831, and IMR4350 will start with 7828 since a lot of the 300bee shooters say this is the powder to use and go from there with 215M Primers.

Now if it is a old s1 vanguard there was a recall. don't know the serial number range. no big deal send the bolt in and they would repair it. They could fire when put in battery. never had 1 do it. If it has been done last 3 digits of serial number will be on the under side od bolt handle.

Part of the reason for the problem and recall was people taking the bolt apart and not putting it back together correctly.
