Federal 215M primers

Federal 215M primers

Has anyone seen any Federal 215M primers for sale anywhere lately? Is Federal even making them anymore? It's been over a year since a local reloading supply store here has had any. The only ones I have seen were at a gun show and the guy wanted $145 per 1K.

Not sure where you are in Tennessee, but give Sportsman's Warehouse in Chattanooga a call. They had some a couple of months ago when I passed through there.

Also, you could contact Larry's Gun and Pawn in Huntsville, AL, as they had some recently, or Vann's Sporting Goods in Cullman, AL, as they also had some not too long ago.

I live in Huntsville and travel all over, so I get to stop in a lot of gunshops.

Interesting question, luckily I picked up a 1,000 at Cabelas a year ago. Looking around the internet I couldn't find any in stock and I ran into no back orders or temporarily unavailable from the manufacturer on all the sites. Best bet would be stop in any small shops you can drive too.

In my area CCI are more easily found. I get a discount at Walmart so that is another reason I use them. I have heard that the Federal primers make more accurate groups but really I only need 0-300 yard accuracy so it doesn’t bother me to much.

Here's some for you, they're not the Gold Medal and you'd have to pay the shipping but I found them for you.

Thanks guys, I checked online at sportsmans warehouse and it says out of stock. I've still got 200. I may end up paying the gun show price of 140 per 1k if they don't show up soon.

I felt the same pain looking for Federal 210 primers. I couldn't find them anywhere in El Paso. I eventually gave up and now use CCI in all my loads. I didn't notice any real difference, but I can actually find primers when I need them!

I would switch primers, before I would pay $140 per 1k.

Try having in stock notifications sent to you from Midway and or Grafs and Sons for the primers. Federal has expanded there ammunition line, so my guess is there primer shortage is caused by the loaded ammo demand.

Guess it doesn't make much difference if their out of stock. So how different is the std. 215 from the 215M. I'm using the standard 215, am I missing something?

I have used both and couldn't see any difference other than price. Sometimes match primers will make a difference and sometimes not. I guess it depends on the load
