Anyone have suggestions on where I could find a short action box magazine kit for Vanguard .308?  I have been searching for the past few days, and I am able to find long action Weatherby kits in most places, but a short action version seems to be elusive.  I also contacted Weatherby, and they could offer the long action version but not the short action.

Have you looked at Howa 1500 accessories? Make sure they will interchange. I believe they will. Welcome to the nation!

With the Howa kit there is no problem, you should be able to just drop it in. The drawback is that it's all plastic and although it functions correctly, I hated the plastic. PPG makes a machined aluminum one that uses a different replacement/mag that will allow for longer COAL's. However, you must machine the tab off the back of the receiver to make the mag fit properly. It's not a hard job if you have an end mill but not a job you want to do with a Dremel. I put one on a .308 Vanguard in a Body's At-One stock and it was great. If you decide to go that route, only do it if your Vanguard is a standard caliber. There is no benefit to doing it with a Weatherby caliber.
