Accumark or Weathermark??
« on: December 27, 2017, 07:13:25 PM »
Ok guys Iím at the crossroads and looking for direction...I have the Vanguard .300 wbymagnum and love it. Iím in the market for the 6.5-.300 wby magnum and not sure which direction to go so here I am asking you WeatherbyWizzards.... I really like the DesertTan Ultralight at a price of $1,600+. I like the Accumark black spiderweb at $1,500+ but now Iím seeing this Weathermark for $1,200??? The Vanguard 6.5-.300 isnít even in the running because I canít find one in stock anywhere so can you guys give me any insight on which of the 3 is the better one?  Of course Iím a conservative and Iím all about saving money but I donít want to buy a bad product...not that Weatherby puts out such a thing. Looking forward to the feedback!!

depends on what kind of hunting you do. I love my accumarks, but I rarely use them for hunting. I do lots of walking, and I find them heavy after awhile. I use my fibermarks and ultralights the most for hunting.  8)

Hunting season for most everything is over except for the porkers.Personally I would hold out for a Vanguard in 6.5/300.They will eventually be available. But if you really have the itch, the Accumark.

I have a ULW 6.5-300 and Love it!! The Accubrake makes the recoil almost a complete non factor and comes with a thread protector, the muzzle blast with the brake is a lot. The weight is perfect in a hunting rifle, but the barrel heats up fast at the range in warm weather. The trigger on the new Mark V is so good there is no reason to even think about replacing it, my son has a Accumark in 6.5-300 and likes it. If you really want that caliber in a Vanguard order it now and you should??? have it by this fall.

I own the 6.5-.300 ULW and it shoots 1/2 moa. I also walk a lot and the 6 1/2 lb weight is a joy to carry. If weight is not a problem then either the accumark or weather mark is a great choice. I love the trigger on the markV. I donít own a Vanguard so I canít give a personal opinion. There are many here that love them.
