OK. What does that have to do with a 6.5-300?

He already has a .240, 270, 300wby,
I see no advantage to adding the 6.5-300wby to that mix.

I don't know the exact numbers but a 340wby shooting 180grs, would be smoking fast, also able to be loaded heavy, up to 275/300grs.

that 6.5 needs a 26-28" barrel as well, the 340 only needs 24"

Did you know that when Weatherby was putting 24 and 26 inch barrels on rifles that were built in Japan, that the 340 only came with a 26 inch barrel?
Sorry... Yesterday was the last and final day for any and all complaints whatsoever.

I try to avoid temptation unless I can't resist it.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

No advantage? How about getting to own another rifle. I own every Weatherby chambering up through 300 with the exception of the 224. I like hunting with ALL my rifles.

I think the 6.5-300 does fine with a 26" barrel. Both the Vanguards and Mark Vs I've seen all come in that size.

Scott and I both purchased 6.5-300s earlier in this thread.
