The weather is pretty nasty, winds into the 40mph range with off and on rain.  I decided to do some reloading to stay busy. I  loaded 4 different 30 caliber rounds with the same bullet!  I actually used the same powder for .308. .30-06 and .300 Win Mag., IMR4064.   I did  use Reloader 19 for the 300 WBY.  ;D

What load do you have worked up for the .30-06?
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.

Do you have any loads with 180 or 165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips or Partitions or Hornady Spire Points?

Chris, if you're looking for a good 165gr BT load for the 30-06, I can suggest you use H4350 and work up carefully from 55gr up to the max charge listed in Hodgdon's data. Works like a charm out of several -06s among friends, and is a longtime known load for the -06.

I load the 180 gr Partitions for my 300 WIN Accumark. 67.7 grains of IMR4350 will shoot .6 MOA if I do my part. Maybe better with the correct nut behind the trigger.

Always had an affection for the.06. I think it's because when I was a kid, that was the caliber everybody seemed to want a rifle in. A classic for sure. Don't think I'll ever have time to reload again until I retire in seven years!
Come and take it.

I'd love to buy a couple 30-06 rifles. One in bolt action. One semi-auto, perhaps from the early 1940's.... Unfortunately my wife insists on paying bills and being responsible.

Thanks for the replies guys.  My Dad had a 1960's 700 BDL with the stamped checkering and a 725 that he sold years ago.  Now he has one of the 760's with the saw cut forend and a Mark V Deluxe with a 26 inch barrel.  He's been using the 180 grain Winchester Power Points but I want to work up a load for them.

My 30-06 likes the factory 180 power points but they are difficult to find right now and I don't see is as a component bullet.  I went from 75 gr. of powder in the 300 WBY to 15 gr. in this one I did with the same 150gr. FMJ Sierra, 300 blackout.   ;D

Chris, I used 51 grs of IMR 4350 with 180 Accubonds on my Ruger M-77 Mark II.  This load gave me great results on this rifle, and was the starting load on the Nosler Reloading Guide 5th Edition.  I took this load to Africa, and took a Warthog with it.  I've also taken several whitetail deer with this load.
