VANGUARD needs to offer the .340 Weatherby!

VANGUARD needs to offer the .340 Weatherby!

unless I missed any new options, I'm quite surprised this isn't an option yet!?

not only would the .340wby do great from the 24" barrel,

I think offering the 340 ammo in a 180gr@3400fps would be a great option,
as well as offering a 265 high BC option,
and maybe even a 275 swift A-frame option.

while the 340 may not be the most popular weatherby, it can be easily argued as one of the best in the line up, if not the BEST!

That sounds good to me.  And, while they're at it, why don't they go ahead and offer the 375 Wby Mag in the Vanguard Dangerous Game Rifle and Safari models.

I'd go for one of them. My .340 is by far my favourite rifle!
The Vanguard DGR in .375 WBY would be great too.

+ Another for the 375 WBY in one of those nice Vanguards! Help boost the 375's popularity a bit more and give the guys that want one and affordable option! :)

The 340 would also be a nice addition to the Vanguard line up, I'd prefer sticking with the 26" tube though. 340 in a First Lite would be an affordable gem!!

It would be great to see the 7mm WM in the line up as well. Is there a reason that all their cartridges couldn't be offered in the vanguard line, except maybe those based on the 378. Would be great to see

Other than the .240 wby, they are now putting a 26  barrels on S2s in Weatherby calibers. I thought this was a good thing and glad to see Weatherby do this.👍

I'm sure they'd sell q bunch of them if they made them.  Same goes for the .224 Weatherby Magnum, I'd love to see that come back in the Mark V and Vanguard lines even if it's a limited run every year.
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.

Id jump on a lightweight, synthetic .224 if it wasnt going to cost a couple Gs.

Even if they did limited runs it would be great. I would end up with 1. Every couple of years a new caliber offered would work. I can't buy them all at once lol

Yup the 340 is a great caliber, with the one i owned was putting 225gr hornady sp through 1" plate steel at 300 yds. 100 and 200 yds was turning the lead into dust.

Biggest issue with the 340 is that it is slightly longer COL than the 300, and the 300 is already limited to slightly less than max COL in the Vanguard magazine.

I agree with you.  The problem I have is my list of I want guns never gets any smaller, every time I buy one one or two get added to the list.

Please let me know when you figure that problem out. Me and my bank account would sure appreciate it!

I would try to buy one if it was in the S2 model with a 26 barrel.
