Accuguard in 30-06.
« on: May 21, 2018, 04:43:06 PM »

First post, multiple Howa owner here. I decided to pull the trigger on a Weatherby Accuguard in 30-06. I have heard many great things about the company and the quality of its products. I know the Vanguards are Howas, but more refined.
I wanted something that can be used for hunting, but also used for light steel slapping. The number 3 barrel is .74 at the muzzle, medium contour. My Howa Game Keeper is a number 2, and after 5 shots the barrel sags. Point of aim, changes I know it is not a Long Range specific rifle. And as stated the Accuguard is going to be used for hunting, and just light duty for long range.
I had looked at Remington, at their Long Range in 30-06. But big greens quality is on the slide, so negative to the Remmy. A2

Welcome to the Nation!  I own a couple of Vanguards, and they are shooters.  Post pictures of your Accuguard.

Congrats on your new rifle.. I have an Accuguard in 300 win on order - Also have a series 2 Vanguard in 30-06 that will punch a 3 shot ragged hole at 100, can't go wrong with the Vanguard line.
