I am considering a 300 Weatherby Deluxe with SN: H269074.  It is in great condition.  It has a walnut stock which is a little different the the 300 in had that was made in the early 70s.  The floor plate on this rifle is in a flat black finish and the rest of the rifle has the normal gloss finish.  Was this the norm or a option?

Any information or opinions would be appreicated.

pics would be nice, but if the floor plate is a different finish than the rest of the rifle, then most likely the floor plate is not original, and has been replaced.

If the barreled action is gloss, my suspicion is someone replaced the floorplate with a different one. Most likely because they broke it, or perhaps because this rifle is cobbled together from spare parts. Pics would help immensely.
