Completed break in  of my weathermark and started shooting for groups. Very pleased that my 30-06 shot a  5 shot group that  is less than 3/4 inch at 100 yards . Can cover the holes with a  quarter. Likes Nosler ballistic tip 180 grain. My first weatherby. Stock and trigger excellent. I'm  believer.

Thanks. I'm having a blast trying different ammo.
The trigger is very easy to adjust without removing the action.

Gotta love a 3/4" 5 shot group. Congrats!! The -06 has been doing it all for 100 years +, and as "they say", shows no signs of slowing down. Another 0-400 yd deer to elk favorite.

Hey terminator, the rig is for Catskill Mountain whitetail. Lots of carrying in steep terrain. For a light weight set up I can't ask for anything better.

I've always thought the 30-06 was one of the best big game calibers in North America, but it seems to have fallen out of favor in my neck of the woods.  They generally sell slower than other calibers and I've heard more than one gun show expert talk about "that's one caliber I ain't got no use for".  Yet they'll rave about their 270, 280, or 300 Win mag.  I guess it's just been around so long that it's not as "cool" as some other cartridges.

just because they are a "so called" gun show expert, that doesn't mean they are a real gun expert. It just means they are expert enough at telling bullsh$t to get a tv show.  ::)  ::) ;D  The old '06 is still a great all around caliber.
