Hi All,

I'm looking for some loads with ADI powder for my 240wby mag in a synthetic markV. Would anyone know what rifle twist these rifles come in?
The ADI site gives load data for a 1:9 twist.

Thanks,

My Mark V Lightweight Stainless has a 1-10 inch twist.  To my knowledge all Weatherby 240 Magnums have this twist.

I am running 55 grains of AR2213sc behind the 90gr Scirocco II projectile out of my Mkv Lightweight.
Seeing as you are using the ADI site I suggest just working up your loads with the ones they provide. Trying to squeeze every last FPS out of the .240 only serves to burn your barrel out and wear brass quicker. No animal is going to notice being hit by a projectile that is going 100fps slower.
You will love the mild mannered .240 wby. It is a great round for ferals here in Aus.

depending on the rifle's barrel length, approx. 250 fps faster with the 240

10" twist not good for the long bullets. Sucks here in Cali. Have to use copper and there loooonnng.

if your shooting bullets of equal weights, no, I don't consider the 240 any better than the 25-06, about the same, on game performance.

The spire points give the arrow effect on any distance over 300 yards.Even when shoulder shooting.I have gone to the 85 grain TSX factory load. They realyl pop deer if you hit at least one shoulder. Our big deer here are 185 pounds with the norm around 145.They are easy to kill with shock when they are small and the TSX does this perfectly.
