Hello all,
I just bought a Weatherby Mark  V in 338 WinMag  and I really have no idea what I have on my hands here because there is almost 0 information about this rifle online.  It has a stainless steel barrel, black synthetic stock and has the serial number SS00XXXX.   Can anyone tell me what this rifle might be worth? Itís in very good shape and the rifling looks pristine. The guy I bought it from never shot it and Iím not sure itís even ever been shot. He needed cash and was looking to sell and I have a bad habit of saying no when it comes to firearms purchases, no matter what the caliber haha.  I know enough about firearms to know that the Weatherby Mark V is an exceptional rifle at any age or caliber. Thank you very much for anyone who reads this.  Idk if any of you sell on here or if thatís legal through the website but I have no real use for it to shot deer in Indiana haha.  Iíd really like a 6.5 Creedmoor instead.  Regardless, this is a beautiful gun.  Thank you.

$1200 or so. Those plastic injection molded stocks are tough. For a durable stock, itís great. As a stainless steel version it has a higher resale value of at least $100 over a blue metal version.

Are you sure it's stainless not nickel coated? Rough guess, it's an "Alaskan" nickel coated.  Welcome to the nation!   :)

Thank you, eford.

Badsection,
I could not tell you for sure but looking close at it, Iím 95% sure itís stainless.  I contacted Weatherby as well to get more info from the serial number.  I know it was made sometime between 1994-2002 based off the SS.  Sadly, I canít find a dang gun shop around me that sells a .338 WinMag.  I must be the only idiot in Indiana to buy a .338 WinMag for deer LOL  Iím sure this thing will whack the daylights out of a whitetail though.  We will see in 2 weeks.

According to Blue Book of Gun Value, 36th Edition, your rifle was built 1994-2004,  at a 100% valued at $1075, 98% valued at $940, 95% valued at $730.  I do not know what the current edition states, but this gives you a ball park figure.  If it was a Weatherby caliber, it be worth an additional $50-100 more.  I hope this helps.  If you want to sell it here, you can.  Oh, and welcome to the Nation.

The USA models are stainless. The Alaskan (nickel plated) were Japanese. I had an Alaskan. The Alaskan also had a blued floor plate. Yours appears stainless. Nice rifle. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone for your help!  Ammo is on its way, Hornady Superperformance SST 200 grain.  Next, a scope with some excellent eye relief haha.

Recoil is not bad on a .338win. Mine likes 225 Barnes TTSX.
