I got to get this thing cooking.3300 with a 20 inch barrel is awesome.Didn't ever think that I could get that out of a 250 Savage,but you do have the bigger case with the AI version.I'd really like to be able to not have to handload for mine if I didn't want to.So I'm kind of hung up on the non AI 250 Savage

I'd hate to see you ruin the value of that Varmintmaster since they seem to be somewhat rare.  While Savage 99s are going up price wise by leaps and bounds, others aren't getting much attention.  I saw another 99 carbine similar to mine at a local gun show last Memorial Day.  It was priced at $550.00. Mine is short, light (about 7 lb with a 2 X 7 VX-2), and accurate.  A combination this old man appreciates when crawling across the prairie.
