Congrats on the new rifle! I shoot 150gr Nosler Partitions in my 7mm Wby. I typically prefer either bonded, partition, or a-frames in big magnum rifles at speeds >3000 fps. They seem to hold together better than the more aggressive expanding bullets.
Years ago I shot a bobcat with my 240 Wby stoked with a 95gr Nosler Ballistic tip. That bullet completely blew up and put an exit wound the size of a cantaloupe in it's shoulder. Had that been a deer, a decent amount of meat would have been wasted.
Back to the 7mm Wby... Right now, I'm planning on taking mine with me to Africa next summer. It will be my first hunt there and should be a perfect fit for plains game.
