I got a warm feeling when he discussed the importance of reticle and center of bore alignment. He had the room to do it with the plumb bob and black dot. If you don't have that much room, then you can project your reticle on a wall by placing a flashlight in the objective. It might seem backwards to you but you can site down on a black dot from the muzzle end just as easy as doing it from the receiver end. I have a grid target with a level attached that I use to align my reticles. I got the target with a SiteLite laser. The laser is worthless except for driving the neighbors cats crazy but the target works very well.

  That is probably the best tip I have seen for reticle centering.

I use the grid bars on the window of the gun shop the see it the scope is square.

I made a quick setup that you can use without a target. This is just for setting up your reticle so it's aligned with the bore.

1. Level the rifle at the leveling point.
2. Look down the bore from the muzzle and center the bore on the plumb line.
3. Aim a flashlight into the Objective.
4. Without moving the rifle, rotate the scope until the vertical cross hair is aligned with the plumb bob. If the projection is left or right of the projection then adjust the windage adjustment on the scope to bring it over the top of the plumb line and do any fine adjustments to scope.
5. Carefully and evenly tighten the scope rings to 15 inch lbs.
6. Take it to the range and finish sighting it in.

When you're finished your reticle will be perfectly in line with your bore. This doesn't do anything for elevation, you'll need to take it to the range for that.

That's a good idea.  I use levels to get the crosshairs level.  Then when I'm tightening down the rings I use feeler gauges to make sure everything is exactly the same.

Good video,  one thing I would add is checking the tracking of the scope and making sure it's true.    I use plumb bob and  grid paper and visually watch the cross hair when clicking completely thru the  scopes elevation range then thru windage range watching the grid paper.  If the scope is not tracking correctly you will see it just make sure the rifle is solid when clicking.
