Graduation Gift

My Grandson will soon be graduating from A.I.T so I thought I would get him something special and personal.
So I custom ordered a Benchmade everyday tactical carry for him.
There may be better designs but I was hindered by blade length and this one comes in under the wire.
It's a Mini Barrage with assisted opening.

Why make things easy if you can make it difficult?

That's a good question.
For a few hundred more I could have got him a Vanguard but he wouldn't have been able to have it with him 24/7.

Being a knife collector of many years, you chose wisely!  :) I would not give any of my immediate relatives anything that nice as the idjits would lose or destroy it! LOL, the truth!
Thanks Kevin.
I did some research before I decided on brand and I wanted one that was made fully in the USA and would hold up should he have to use it hard.
This isn't your basic Mini Barrage and it has several up grades that aren't on the standard model like the type of blade steel and some other ergonomics.
As long as he doesn't misplace it some where it has a life time guaranty so should it break they will fix it.

What a beautiful knife. I love really good knives and they aren't easy or cheap to come by. That is truly an heirloom knife much like a Weatherby is an heirloom rifle.

Last year I decided to finally invest in a good skinning knife. I chose Dawson as my knife maker and they made me a custom skinner to my spec's. I can skin a rabbit or a moose with this thing and every time I use it, I ask myself, why the heck didn't I do this years ago. Sure would have saved on blisters and band aids. Your son is very lucky to have someone knowledgeable pick a knife for him.

Not to hi-jack the post, but I also bought my son-in law a Benchmade skinning/caping Knife a year ago, and he just loves it. Hard to beat the quality and craftsmanship of a Benchmade knife. BTW, their Butterfly logo signifies the balisong-style or butterfly knife that they mainly became known for as a knife mfg. Your Grandson will enjoy using and showing off his Custom Benchmade knife. Great gift idea.

I don’t currently own a Benchmade, but figure on rectifying that soon.
