Probably not how I’d allocate 110k worth of a hunting hunting budget, but hey, if you got, and especially if it helps the overall viability of the species like the video states... Whatever floats your boat!

If it was me, I’d probably better have some more money to start a new life once I got back, cause I surely wouldn’t be welcome back in my house if it was discovered I snuck over to Pakistan and spent $100,000+ on a foreign goat! :D

Logical conservation works! Wish we had some of that logic here in the states. Not the cost mind you, just the logic.

The Kashmir Markhor is my top of the list trophy I would so dearly love to get! They are much cheaper in Tajikistan though.
Hoever with mother nature being the cruel mistress that she is, the habitat these critters live in is just way to un-wheelchair friendly.... :'(

That sucks BB, I hope a hunt for that animal can come together for you somewhere someday. And glad you mentioned being able to do it cheaper somewhere, a lot of people, myself included, like to poke fun at the insane costs of some of these hunts... But what I don’t think much of the outside world realizes is the people paying for these tags are almost 100% of the time not just some “rich a**hole” going to shoot an endangered animal just so they can. If they wanted to actually do something like that, chances are they could do it for way cheaper. They pay that much b/c they probably actually care about the well being of that species exponentially more than all the internet warriors getting their panties in a bunch over it.

Kind of like the "Governor's Tags" in some of the western states.

The state gives a special tag(s) to organizations, like The Wild Sheep Foundation, who then auction off the tag(s), sometimes for hundreds of thousands of dollars.   Then part of that money goes to the organization and the rest of the money goes to the game department, and both organizations use the money on projects to better that species of animals.

And the winner of the auctioned tag gets an opportunity to hunt one of those animals.

Spot on Buffybr. While there are always ways to do something worthwhile better, and we dang sure always be striving for that better, I’d posit that the North American conservation model is equal to, if not the best model we can see in the world right now.

There are place in the US like the Ox Ranch that one can hunt them on. They are not as big as the ones found living in the Himalayas of Tajikistan, Pakistan and all those other 'stans. But they are a lot cheaper too! Trophy fees are anywhere from $10,000-$30,000 depending on where and when. They are also not free range and as exciting a hunt as it would be in their homeland mountains.
