It is intriguing and I've always thought it would be challenging. The closet thing I have to a hunting pistol is my Super Blackhawk Hunter 44 Mag. I guess the 686 5" I have on order could also be used for hunting. I like your choice best compared to my current choices.

Nice! I donít have one right now but Iíve been mulling over a CVA Scout single shot pistol in either 6.5CM or .243win. Maybe the 6.5 just cause already have a lot of ammo.

Of course they don't allow us to hunt with pistols in Canada period.

My wife has a .357 lever action and last year they changed regulations in Saskatchewan so pistol cartridges in rifles are not legal for hunting any big game but a .204 is legal for deer, moose and elk. ::)

DW: I have CVA Scout rifles in 45-70 and .223. Great shooters and amazing triggers.I am sure the pistol would be just as good anddd since you already have a lot of 6.5 ammo you are petty well stuck getting one.
HDH: That is one sweet looking rig.I like. You can shoot the 454 and 45 LC in it also.
BM: That is crazy. As much as I like the 204,You better shoot him in the eye.Are All center fires legal there?

I have a TC Encore in 308 Winchester that I shot a black bear with, I've carried it whitetail and elk hunting with no luck. I have an older Leupold 1x20 scope, but I definitely should have went with a higher powered variable scope for deer and elk. But at the time a 1 power was all I needed hunting over bait for bear, I load 150 ballistic tips over IMR 4064. She definitely has some bark to her!!!

Roger I have A hard enough time with A rifle. I did shoot at A doe one year. I had filled my buck tag in the morning. And seen A yearling in the afternoon. I shot at it with my  S&W model 29
I couldnt beleive I missed. Back tracking the shot. I clipped a twig. And in 20 feet my bullet deflected and went into A pine tree 6 inches from the ground. I do have the chance to hunt boar this spring with my 629 I am kicking that around right now.
HDH that 460 resembles A piece of Artillary.
But it would shure get the job done.
And Roger that is A awesome photo. If I could do that. I would hunt with A pistol too.

I would have to look up regulations but it has something to do with case length.
It used to be over 24 caliber so a .243 was legal but a 22-250 wasn't.

I used to have a TC with 14 inch barrel in 223.

I would love to get the S&W 460 since I could shoot 460, 454 C, 45 LC or any 45 rimmed case pistol round. At the same time I'm think what a great quad gun it would make but then I look in my safe and realize that my Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag can be scoped and easily do the job of a hunting pistol. It's a small investment to put a scope on it instead of the 1600.00 it would cost for a new gun. Don't get me wrong, I still want it, I'm just trying to stay on my diet.
