Do you remember?
« on: March 12, 2019, 08:51:18 AM »
I was running with my first gun during that times. It was a 5.5 airgun and I do conserve it as new as the first day. Only 45 years ago. My God, why did I grow up so quickly. That video of Weatherby make me feel some nostalgic. I dont know why. It may be that  now I am 56 and I miss those hunting days with my father very much. Sorry.

Yes Juan, I do remember. Time passes quickly. I can't say I miss hunting with my dad because he's always there with me. I even catch myself saying (often out loud) "What do you think dad, should I take the shot". When I kill a game animal, I thank the animal, god and my dad.

On a slow hunting day I ask my Father , Grandfather and lost friends  in Heaven to put a drive on for me. Sometimes it works! I know they are always with me.

One of my favorits as A kid. I knew I wanted to hunt Africa just from watching that and Tarzan.

Juan, you are so right in that time flies. When I started hunting many years ago there were 7 people in our camp including my father and myself. Today I am the only one left and over the years the camp was passed on to me. Sometimes when I am there alone I will say their names out loud hoping that somehow they will hear it and know that as long as I am alive they will not be forgotten. Oh well such is life.

Juan, the hours drag, but the years fly by!!! There used to be 10 of us in deer camp but now it's down to 3 of us, but the story's bring back smiles from the good old days. One year on the last day of the season I decided to pray after not seeing a buck during the first 8 days, all of a sudden I looked up and a small 8 pointer was walking by and my tag got filled. Angels are watching over us, Greetings my friend!!
