Has anyone used the 115 berger VLDs? My rifle really likes the 115 nosler bt. I figured these would perform better is a short shot presents itself.
a 1/2" group is good enough for the girls I go with!

Yes I tried some in my .257 wby quite some time ago and they were terrible. I think they shot around a 2.5" group at 100m. Mind you I didn't put much effort into searching for a load to make them shoot. I just dropped my usual load I run with the 115gr TSX by a grain and loaded them up. Then I haven't bothered trying to make them shoot as I just stick with the 115gr TSX.
But that's not to say you can't get them to be accurate in your rifle.
Aussie gun nut.

I load them for my dad's 257.  They shoot in the .25 to .5" range.  The Bergers work very well on whitetail deer!

I had a load for mine that shot very good. Around a 12" 10 shot group at 1000 letting the barrel cool.
I say had because l re-bed the action and now it will not shoot them, 2" groups at 100 yards
So l have 400 or so l would sell

I shoot the 100 grain TTSX at game

just the lead? or are they loaded? I have a press and might be working up some VLD loads after the season.

So I ordered 2 boxes from choice ammunitions. I shot a 4 shot 3/4" group at 100. I think my rifle likes them. Hopefully they do well on game. leave in 3 weeks for a backpack hunt (bear, cougar and buck tag) shots from 50-250 yds max. should get the job done even on a larger black bear.

Good Luck!!! I've shot 3 black bears, the biggest dressed out at 350 pounds. I actually believe a bear dies easier then a whitetail, your 257 Roy will work great. Though I did shoot a 250 pounder that before he ran off and died, started growling, snapping his jaws and then swatted the tree next to me and knocked it down. I definitely felt relieved when I heard his death moan.
