Well Ive had this Mark V 6 lug all stainless action collecting dust at my gunsmiths for a cpl years, these all stainless action are kind of rare so thought I better make use of it,

I ordered a Bell & Carlson pebbled Black coloured stock and a #3 Fluted Benchmark 1-9 twist Barrel and had Gunsmith Gary Flach give the old Wby a makeover.

He Trued and Squared the action, lightened the factory trigger to 2.5lbs, chamber the barrel in 280 Ackley, added charcoal/pewter gunkote to all metal surfaces, glass bedded the stock and I added Talleys and a Leupold VX3i 3-10x40 duplex scope, should make a very functional hunting rifle, the nice thing about the Weatherby style stocks is they fit me like a glove, no rifle shoulders better imho....at least for me.

That sure is one nice hunting rig you have there. I am like you in that the Weatherby style Monte Carlo stock fits me perfectly.

I have a MK V UL in 280 Remington. I have often considered transforming it to a 280 AI. But, given its one hole accuracy with its original barrel I subsequently vanquish the thought.
It all started with a 280....

The 6-lug Weatherby is a really great action. The size is perfect for that chambering and that is a great cartridge choice. I can't wait to get my 280 AI build done. RWS makes 280 brass by the way.
I shoot cases with a belt because I feel the other cartridges need to pull their trousers up.

I have a Kimber I just bought in 280 Ackley. Put 3 Barnes 120gr. in one whole this morning. I bought Peterson brass for mine. Didn't think a light weight would do that.

I have a Kimber I just bought in 280 Ackley. Put 3 Barnes 120gr. in one whole this morning. I bought Peterson brass for mine. Didn't think a light weight would do that.

I have a factory Kimber Mountain Ascent 270win that will consistently put 3 in the same hole using factory Barnes 130gr ttsx ammo.
