.250 Savage AI
.25-06
.300 Savage
.30-06
.300 'Bee
.35 Whelen

I think my favorite is my .250 Savage AI.  Light , accurate and deadly to 300 yds.

Just joined the group, can't help but jump in.  I've been shooting the same Walnut stock Vanguard .30-06 in Missouri to hunt white tail for 32 years with a Leupold Vari-X II scope on it (same scope the whole time) and it never fails.  I kill a deer (or two) every year with it.  Longest shot on my farm has been 257 yds and dead on.  All those years, I use the gun, clean it, put it away and next year unpack and take one shot to make sure it's still dead on and off I go.  It's been an amazing gun/scope combo and endured more than a few bumps.  I've been shooting hand-loaded rounds the whole time.  A friend does it for me and it's been 130gr or 150gr Sierra Game Kings for several years and recently Barnes Triple-shock polymer tipped rounds that just don't mess around.

Welcome to the Nation u2. Sounds like your Sporter stocked Vanguard in 30-06, the Leupold scope and you have been a great trio over the years. The -06 has been a go to caliber for many years and one that will handle just about anything.(with the exception of the big bears) Given your hunting situation, your success rate year in and year out, and given the trio's longevity, I'd say one thing, If it ain't broke don't fix it. Do you do any other type of hunting, say varmint, or big game, or is deer hunting your main interest. Do you own any other Weatherby's, or is it just you've never been bit by the Weatherby bug. 🐞
   Again, welcome to the campsite!

I am sure I'll catch some grief but i currently use my 30-378 with 210gr bergers  due to switching my mindset to more of a 2 rifle set up, using the 30-378 for EVERYTHING colorado and below and a 375 for everything above colorado. What I've used in the past was a 270 Ackley improved with various 140 and 150 grain pills and a 7mm rem mag with 175 and 180 grain pills.

Nothing wrong with that!!! I've been using my 340 for Whitetails and Elk, dead is dead.

Well let's see ....

303 British
308 Win
7mm RM
30-30 Win
300 Wby

And for the last few years exclusively the 257 Wby Mag. Before I would have to sas the 7mm RM was my favourite deer round.

The bullet I am using is the Hornady ELDX in 110 gr loaded to about 3400 FPS. I also have a Speer 100 gr. load that works really well. I have tried the 110gr. Accubond and it works well but is a bit more money in my area.

That 110 gr Hornady bullet has been used on Moose as well.

Since the late '70s my favorite deer caliber has been .25 with my .257 Ackley, but over the years I have used a variety of cartridges or calibers for deer from .22 LR to .45 caliber muzzleloader.

I like the 300 blkout /150 gold dot under 200 yds. Longest shots were with a 6br/105 amax.
