257 Magnum is plenty for all you listed
Remember 10534

I’d go with the 300. You never know when you might to go after something bigger.
Got a 300 and a 257, feel like I’ve got everything covered.
Life is to short to hunt with an ugly rifle.

Unless you load your own, I'd go with the 300. I believe there are many more ammo choices and probably cheaper. You won't need to worry about poor angles on game shots. JMO!  :)

Neither a bad choice or a clear answer.

300 provides a little bit of upper end if needed and a little bit of overkill on the lower end, and does have some recoil. Lot of factory offerings to cover a wide range of game. I have one and for the most part it's a little overkill for everday hunting here in texas. I purchased it to have something with more power shooting plains game and nilgai here in texas.

270 would be just fine with all you mentioned, I own my share of these and 130-150 grain bullets at wby velocities nothing you mention will survive. A great choice less recoil and just enough factory offerings to cover what your looking for.

I use my 270 Roy and my 340 Roy. You really cover all your bases with these two. GJ

In my opinion, it depends on where you are hunting. If you are hunting in an area where you may encounter a Grizzly, you will need your .300. Or, if you are hunting in Alaska where there are huge Black Bears and Brown Bears, that is a place where you would need the ,300. And, I would thing Canada w=as well. But if elsewhere where you will not run into any of those huge critters, I think you .270 would be fine.

This is kinda like the .30-06 vs the .270.
Only bigger.

Take the 300 Roy. There is no such thing as “too dead” and an encounter with a bigger animal is better handled with a heavy 30 cal bullet.
Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.

As others have stated, both will do.  Anecdotally, I just killed a decent sized sow hog with my 300 WBY (first time I hunted with it!) and she didn't take a step.  The 300 WBY is just fun to shoot (though I do have a brake on mine).

GJ has it right with that combination. Read an article a few years back about the 2 ideal calibers, if you only could pick 2 for N.A the 270 and 340 were rated #1as a combination
